Well I could have written this post days ago, but I have been pretty busy getting ready for Eden's birthday party.
I'm excited to announce that I will be working with the couple I spoke to on the phone last Thursday. Their names are Mark and Margaret and they have a home in New York as well as in London. I of course have only spoken to them once, but they seem just wonderful. I will soon be flying into Newark, New Jersey (paying a surrogate is illegal in New York, narrow minded people!) to visit the couples' fertility doctor for a bunch of medical testing and a psychological evaluation. That last one ought to go well;) I will get to meet the parents for the first time that day, too. And boy oh boy I couldn't be happier about the area I "have" to visit. I'm feeling pretty lucky right now. What an experience this whole thing is going to be.

Potential Parents
I spoke with a great couple today! They seemed very down to earth and easy to talk to and they were just as nice as could be. I can't wait until Jason gets home from work. We could not come up with a time when everyone was available, so he wasn't able to be in on the conversation. I am excited to tell him all about it and see what he has to say.

A healthy point of view
This is so good for me. I have been preparing by exercising more, eating healthier and trying to get more sleep. The better I am to myself the better I will feel and the easier my delivery will be. I walk 2 miles almost every night. Obviously not tonight, of course, since it is raining cats and dogs out there! But I really am excited and I'm trying hard. This month I have already walked 22 miles and it is only the 14th (of course I know that if a certain friend of mine is reading this she is thinking to herself that 22 miles is not that much and I'm a big giant pansy). One of the biggest things I have been trying to do is remember to stop and have a snack every few hours. There are times when I get lost in whatever I may be working on and I forget to eat and I get headaches from it. There will be no more of that! Why does it take doing something for someone else to make me do simple little things I should be doing anyway?
P.S. I already started buying maternity clothes..........I have been surprised to find how far maternity styles have come in the 5 years since I have been pregnant, and I couldn't resist a cute pair of early stage jeans from Old Navy.

So far
I have applied with a great company called Reproductive Possibilities. Check it out at http://www.reproductivepossibilities.com/. The process has gone a little faster than I thought it would. Maybe that is because I was very prompt filling out all the applications they sent me. Every time I fill one out and submit it the next step and the next instructions are sent. I do still need to get them a copy of my benefits summary from my insurance company and get a medical exam done, but the ball is rolling. I have been pleased with my progress as well as with my caseworker, whom I spoke to on the phone a few days ago. She said my application had been submitted for intended parents to view. I am very excited and I can't wait to hear something, anything, back from the agency. Jason is supportive of this whole thing but I just know that when we start talking to couples he will start to understand just how much of an impact this will make in some one's life. My caseworker is out of the office until the 8th and the suspense is killing me..........
